Chapter 28

“For one, you retain your arms off of me any further.”

His eyes darkened, his arm round my waist tightening. The refusal in his eyes was clearly seen till he out of the blue grinned and raised each his arms, then took a step again. “Okay, what’s the second situation?”

“No flirting.”

He cocked his head. “Typically or solely with you?”

I sighed. “With me.”

He seemed like he needed to assume onerous about that one. “I can’t promise you that. I’m naturally charming.”

I chuckled. “You’re naturally cocky. There’s an enormous distinction.”

“Is there?” He raised an attractive forehead once more, which made him look devastatingly good-looking.

Massively annoying.

And really onerous to disregard.

The workers members emerged, arms laden with garments, and so they led us to the again of the boutique.

Alex’s eyes gleamed as he riffled by the offered garments, clearly relishing enjoying dress-up.

He chosen a deep crimson robe, which I refused, a really brief, black cocktail costume—which I refused, as nicely, after which he held up a surprising gold costume that seemed like shimmering hearth.

I shook my head.

His jaw hardened, and his eyes obtained darker as he stared me down. “Payment.”

“Alex.”

Our staring contest lasted, however I wasn’t prepared to offer in.

One of many gross sales associates obtained nervous, pushed a costume into my hand, and ushered me behind a display to vary. I undressed and put the costume on.

And holy shit.

My reflection was beautiful. The shape-fitting costume hugged my curves, and the deep emerald hue complemented my complexion.

“I would like sensible garments, Alex. I don’t intend to attend a royal viewers or a ball whereas I’m right here.”

Alex chuckled. “Present me.”

The silk slithered over my physique with each motion cool and sensual.

The costume match completely despite the fact that it was a tad brief and had a really deep hemline, which might make carrying a bra beneath unimaginable. After all, this one needed to be far more dangerous than the others I’d denied.

I stepped out and glared at him.

“Wow,” he breathed, his eyes darkening as his gaze raked over me like a bodily contact. Then he caught my gaze, and a harmful electrical present sizzled between us.

It was plain—there was chemistry between us, nevertheless unlikely. And the best way he checked out me proper now instructed me he would eat me entire—if I let him.

Which I had completely zero intention to do.

I needed to preserve management.

He circled me like a predator, then took a pair steps again. “I hate it; take it off.”
